Do Beijing like a local

II Two days, two ways of experiencing a city — one through your eyes and your feet, the other through your hands and your body. Two layers of Beijing, both worth feeling.

Experience Flow

Day 1 · See Beijing

Everyday Life & the Night

Start the morning at a living Tibetan Buddhist temple, then wander south through streets most visitors never find — past the Confucius Temple, through Beixinqiao and the Dongsi hutongs, with a local breakfast along the way. Afternoon at the Drum Tower and Shichahai lake as the light turns golden. After dark, the city changes — end the day with a slow night walk through Qianmen and into the quieter lanes beyond.

Day 2 · Feel Beijing

Body & Art

he whole morning belongs to your body. A TCM doctor reads your pulse, figures out your constitution, and puts together a tuina session around what you actually need. Lunch is medicinal — designed around your results. The afternoon slows right down: a private tearoom, your own tea setting, a tea master who shows you how to brew it properly. You smell the leaves before you taste them. Evening ends at a real Beijing family’s table — no fixed menu, just whatever the host is making that night.

Most Beijing itineraries send you to the Forbidden City and call it a day. This one goes somewhere different. You’ll eat breakfast in a hutong, wander through a neighbourhood where locals actually live, get a Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment tailored to your body, learn to brew tea in a private tearoom, and sit down for dinner inside a real Beijing family’s home. Two days built around the stuff that doesn’t show up on a highlight reel — but ends up being what you actually remember.
